The Luminous Lagoon is home to one of the most spectacular natural phenomena in the world. The lagoon is home to billions of microscopic organisms which glow an iridescent blue / green colour when the water is disturbed. Boats run continuously from the Glistening Waters restaurant after dark. Just turn up and wait for the next boat to arrive to take you on the half hour tour. You’ll see bright flashes of light in the water as fish swim around the boat and when the boat is moving the micro organisms leave a bright green glow in its wake. The boat will stop for you to take a swim if you want to and watch the water glow all around you with every stroke you take. If you’re feeling adventurous make sure you bring your swimwear so that you can take a dip in the lagoon and see the water glow around you. The base of the shallow lagoon is silty and muddy so you may prefer to wear something on your feet if you swim. The guide will also give you some history of the Falmouth area and a scientific explanation of the bioluminescent phenomenon.

Photographed millions of times, Dunn’s River was prominently featured in the very first James Bond film, “Dr. No.” Countless other film crews have followed the lead. You may also make your visit a shopping excursion, as there is a large craft market with a great selection of locally produced items. What are you waiting for? Open 8:30 am to 5:00 pm. US$6 per adult, US$3 for children aged six to twelve. To avoid crowds, try to go on days when there are no cruise ships in Ocho Rios.

Course designers von Hagge and Baril designed Cinnamon Hill with elevations that give the sense of both links and inland golf. You’ll experience the best of Jamaica golf — the cool ocean spray on your cheeks as you putt on seaside greens, then the wind whistling through the pines as you tee-off on the 17th hole, 350 feet above sea level. This is a test you will enjoy, enchanting panoramas framing your every shot.

To get the most out of this unique experience, talk to our caddies. They are listed among “The Best In The World” by Golfer magazine, and they will be equally happy to discuss Annee Palmer or Arnold Palmer and can read greens better than any pro.

Great undulating greens, demanding holes, challenging drives and breathtaking vistas are all part of the award-winning, par-72 championship course designed by famous course architect Robert Trent Jones, Sr.

Recently renovated by architect Roger Rulewich, Jones’ protégé, Half Moon Golf Course features newly aligned, multiple tee complexes as well as repositioned fairway and greenside bunkers. In completing the renovation project, Rulewich was mindful to maintain the course’s integrity of respecting the natural flow of the land while modernizing the course to account for improvements made to golf equipment over the years.
